How To Win Red Dog Casino Poker

Red Dog Casino Poker is a new online casino game played with a standard card deck against the house. Most online casinos operate a relatively high payout ratio for this game despite the relatively standard house edges.

So it is important to note that the online casinos house edge will decrease as more decks are added to the game.  There can be anywhere between one deck (giving the casino an edge of 3.155%) to eight decks (house edge of 2.751%) used for the game. However, the fact that the game requires further input and change in stake levels as the game progresses we've found that payouts can be frequently triggered following the rules and strategy below.

It is also worth noting that Red Dog is often an INCLUDED game when wagering / gambling towards a casino welcome bonus, making it a very attractive proposition if the correct rules and gameplay are employed.

Objective of Red Dog Casino Poker

The player must predict whether the value of a randomly selected card will fall between two cards which have already been dealt to the player.

Rules of Red Dog Casino Poker

  • The player is required to place an ‘Ante' bet.  This is required by the house in order for the player to take part in the game and the amount is determined by the house.

  • The casino dealer will then deal two cards face up to the player. Should these two cards be consecutive in value (ie a 3 and a 4) the player will receive their money back and a new round will commence.

  • Should the player's two cards be equal in value (such as two 6's) a third card will automatically be dealt.  Should this card match the pair already on the table then the player will get paid out at 11 to 1!  Should the third card not match then the player will receive their money back.

  • In any other circumstance the player is now required to either raise their initial Ante or simply call for a third card.  This decision will be based on whether the player thinks the value of the third card will fall between the value of the first two cards dealt to the player.

  • The difference in value between the first two cards is know as the ‘Spread'.  For example, if you are dealt a 3 and a 8, the Spread is 4 (the four cards in between being 4, 5, 6, and 7).

  • The casino will pay out to the player depending on the value of the spread (see below):

Red Dog Casino Poker Game Strategy

The following table shows the net return per unit bet on various spreads, assuming a six deck game. As you can see only spreads of seven or more are favourable. Thus the player should only raise on spreads of 7 or more, which is true regardless of the number of decks used.
